Yeah for Saint-Honore

Today during school, Aaron's class went to the fete du pain, the festival of bread. (My class doesn't get to go on field trips!) He got to watch how croissants are made (lucky) and also try different types of bread. Every year, a week is dedicated to worship Saint-Honore, the saint of boulongers. He took me after class to see the whole thing, but it was wrapping up. We did get to see tartes being made and ordered some sandwiches to eat on the steps in front of Notre Dame. Sigh

I also bought 10 chouquettes and ate 8 of them. I know, a pig! But I love them. I need to learn how to make them. After lunch, we walked to the nearest metro station and saw these amazing meringues. Every flavor. I had no idea you could have a pistachio merengue. I will have to try one soon.
We tried another famous patisserie, and later that night, I went out to swing dance. I met a girl who actually lived in NYC for a time and therefore, we know the same people (29 people to be exact).
