Air Traffic Control Finally Lets Ericka into France

I had school today but was very excited to leave because my old roommate, Ericka was to arrive this morning. But alas, there was a strike at the airport. Who knows why it happened, but her plane was stuck in Dublin for a good 3 hours instead of 1. When she finally got to my house, she was smelly, tired, and starving. We took her to Creperie Imogene and then tried to catch up on a half missed day. All throughout the day, we kept saying things like "I can't believe you/I'm here!" or "I can't believe I'm standing in the Notre Dame!" So cute, as was everything else she said about her experience. For instance, Ericka has never left the US of A (except Canada which is honestly just the ugly redheaded stepchild of North America). She's also never had an onflight meal (which she said was good, strangely enough) and she didn't know what a "redeye" or "duty free" was. She's just too much.
I showed her the local water fountains and other things that are different on the streets than America, like the traffic lights being far back.
Beautiful church. Today the line was crazy long but once again, it moved fast!
What a crappy day of weather but a great door for indoor exploring. I took her to Gibert Jaune, the language bookstore. A paradise for a language teacher. Seriously, she could've bought the whole basement. But then she'd have to check her bag. I also took her to the game store in the 5th and I bought a new game for Aaron that deals with drawing and describing things in french.
Off to Sainte Chappelle, Stina's favorite church in the world. Somehow, it wasn't as magical this time. Maybe it was the fact that it wasn't that bright out or the HUGE renovation screen that took over half the walls...yeah, it was probably the screen. We saw the rose window here and tried to read about each panel but the only pamphlets they had left were in french. It was hard to know if we were right because the panels were super small and dirty, and the panels dealt with the passages of revelations, and honestly who reads revelations anyways?! It's crazy!
I gotta get better at evening shots!
We had an aperatif nearby and then waltzed past the Pompidou. What a cool building. I always am reminded how cool Paris is when I see it.
And of course, this is the side I see when I dance and kill myself with plies!
We went to dinner with Trixie and this was the second restaurant today where Trix was not only welcomed inside, but no one even batted an eye when we put her in a chair.
