Jardin de Luxembourg. I'm going to know this part of the park VERY well as it's the ONLY part of the park that Trixie is allowed to set foot on. It's kind of sad here, how dogs aren't allowed into most parks. What's the point of a park then? To get back to the park's beauty though, it's really well maintained and everyone cleans up after their dogs. I guess France is doing something right. Now if Williamsburg would only do the same...
I went to french class today, but am getting increasingly more frustrated because the class is hard but oddly NOT at all. I'm at the top of the class (I still make mistakes like crazy but I know way more than the other students) but I'm a little behind the B1 class, so there's no where to put me. I think I might have to find a private tutor via craigslist to get a better education. If I hear one more person say "JUH NUH SAYE PAW" in my class, I may cut my wrists....
After french it was off to Claquettes, but again, it wasn't a great class. The teacher just went through the motions, never "teaching" me anything. Granted, I know all the steps, just not the order in which they come, which made for a very frustrating class. I did get a LOT of the choreo that she's been teaching for months though, so my tap teacher would be proud and I'm sure some of the students felt intimidated.
After coming home and playing with Trix, I met up with Nicole and Paul once again near Concorde! The sun was setting (still had 2 hours or so) so everything had a nice golden glow.
I took them to the Marais/Bastille area and we had dinner at Chez Imogene. Olivier, the waiter is no longer there (he had a baby AND is now in police academy) but the chef remembered me and even asked me where the man with "lunettes" was, so that made me feel really cozy and happy.
I had to get my crepe complete! I also got kir! Nicole and Paul both made these "OMG I can't believe I'm tasting these flavors" faces, so I think I took them to the right place. For dessert, I got my fave, salted caramel with ice cream!
I always leave there happy! After saying bye, I walked a little through my old neighborhood and biked back to my new place, via my old route to school. So familiar.
I passed Sainte Chappelle. It looks glorious at night. So small and yet SO big!
The weirdest thing about my neighborhood is that it's full of people at night, especially in front of the theater and yet there is not a single velib at my station (that's MY bike that I just dropped off) In the morning, there's usually 4-5 bikes there, and in the late afternoon, the thing is full....I never see anyone else at the station. Who is taking all these bikes?!
