Today was free museum day, meaning all the big museums were free admission. Why don't they have something like this in NYC?! Aaron claims that the Guggenheim does it, but who wants to go to the Guggenheim repeatedly?! We went to the Musee des arts et Métiers, a science museum. It housed a ton of old cars and the first motorcycle, all inside an old church. Genius use of space.
Loved this old car. They still have the crank. and it had a back compartment with curtains and a megaphone to chat with the driver.
Propeller car that got up to 80 mph. Unfortunately it never flew.
The first 4 passenger car. It was called the Vis a Vis. Notice anything fishy? The driver seat is facing the passengers. How distracting, no?
We then headed over to the Bois de Vincennes which is actually right outside of Paris, sitting on its borders. It's one of the only parks that allows dogs, and dogs off leash at that. It was definitely Trixie's favorite place to go so far. There was lots of hiking and lakes. We'll try to go back every weekend so she can get her exercise fix and we can get a boat.
OMG puppy! I saw these little puppies in a bike basket. I wish Trixie were that small.
She loved the park. It was very crowded but we found areas that were deserted.
At night, I went to Cadeau de la Huchette, a dance club for swing in a basement. Live band was great. I got to try be bop for the first time. Very different from Lindy. I met 3 guys there who specifically showed up to dance with me. Wow, I felt special. All were very different and I stayed so late. One even asked why I had to leave and it was nearly 12:30 already. One of them (Frederic) gave me a ride home.
