Today's Sugar

 Un Dimanche A Paris, a patisserie that was recommended to us by a classmate....she's a pastry chef so we were very excited to try these. They had a ton of chocolates there but for some reason I haven't even begun to touch other desserts yet. We're still on macaroons. Anyway, we bought chocolate, orange, passion fruit, strawberry rhubarb, salted caramel, and mint. When we ate them, we both noticed that they were "stale" and quickly wrote off this patisserie as "rubbish" for selling old cookies....
...until we told our classmate. Apparently, when macaroons are first made, they are crispy. The tea salons usually let them sit for a couple of days so that they soften up. The more you know...I guess we will have to return...oh darn.
