Today's Sugar

I've been following a blog called Paris in 4 Months for quite some time now, and I love that the author is as in love with sweets as I am, specifically the macaron. She exclaimed that Carette is a salon de The that is very underrated and overshadowed by Pierre Herme and Laduree. Of course I had to go. Of course I had to drag Aaron along. Of course I bought €14 worth of cookies!
We bought pistachio, raspberry, cassis, hazelnut, lemon, and cherry. Holy mother, these were amazing. Aaron exclaimed that they are a whole new level of macaron, and while I don't want to jump on the band wagon just yet and totally trash talk Laduree for their pretentiousness, these were some of the best macarons I've ever tasted. The cassis one in particular literally tasted like delicious jelly.
We didn't get ones like vanilla, chocolate, or rose, but now on second thought, I think we may have to go back to taste test again.
